Rachna Choudhry is co-founder of POPVOX, a nonpartisan platform that connects people with their lawmakers. After ten years of advocacy and lobbying for several national nonprofit organizations, she realized that there is a huge disconnect between people and our lawmakers in Washington. Instead of offering petitions or impersonal form, POPVOX is a direct connection with lawmakers. Users can track each bill pending before Congress and then write a personal letter to their lawmakers about an issue they care about. Rachna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA, and a Master’s in Public Policy from Georgetown University’s McCourt School. She is based in Washington, DC and hails from the San Francisco Bay Area.
BIO: Kevin E. West
is a veteran television actor, as well as a former Stand-up Comic and Improv performer, with over 60 credits including Aquarius, Criminal Minds, Bones, Castle, CSI: Miami, Justified, Touch, Leverage, Lost, 24, Desperate Housewives, NCIS, Alias, CSI Judging Amy and dozens more. Kevin is the Founder of The Actors’ Network, and the creator of the ActorBizGuru industry interview video series, both of which are award winning. The Actors’ Network was awarded consecutive BackStage West “Reader’s Choice” awards (06/07). A few of it’s alumni include Emmy Nominee Masi Oka (Heroes), Chelsey Crisp (Off The Boat), Chris Gorham (Covert Affairs-Ugly Betty) and Maggie Grace (Taken trilogy). Industry wide, Kevin is considered the top expert opinion speaker on the ‘business of show business. His speaker appearances include: ShowBiz Expo, WGA, SAG LifeRaft Foundation, and UCLA as well as A Date with Hollywood, for the Swedish Film Institute (Stockholm). Additionally Kevin Co-Authored the audio CD program, The Actor’s Guide to GETTING THE JOB. He just released his long awaited book on the business: 7 Deadly Sins – The Actor Overcomes, on sale now at Samuel French Hollywood/New York, Book Soup & also available on Amazon.
Benjamin Krause is the founder and CEO of Armo Press, LLC and creator of its website DisabledVeterans.org. He created the website to battle VA in the court of public opinion. On the site, Benjamin writes news articles and veteran stories that inform the public and help veterans get their benefits. He also openly discusses his own benefits struggles as a disabled veteran.
During law school, Benjamin joined forces with Veterans For Common Sense to assist in their public relations campaign on Capitol Hill resulting from their class action law suit against VA. He testified before the Democratic National Platform Committee (CSPAN) for the 2012 election cycle. He has also worked with numerous media outlets on veterans issues including Bloomberg TV, CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, the Star Tribune, and others. Benjamin’s veterans advocacy work was well highlighted by the Pioneer Press article by columnist Ruben Rosario called, Veteran has fought VA, but he would rather help fix it.
